FARMERS TRAINING & RESEARCH

11-2pm three times every month

Productive farms, healthy cocoa crops

Through our SCFM (Sustainable Cocoa Management Certificate) program, we offer training and support services to help farmers improve the productivity of their farms and grow healthy, robust crops.
By participating in Farmer Field Schools and other training activities, producers have the opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge about good agricultural practices as well as responsible and safe labor practices. They learn how to effectively manage pests and diseases that can harm the fragile and sensitive cocoa plant. And, they learn about the importance of ensuring biodiversity on their farms.
In addition to agricultural training, farmers are offered opportunities in business skills development and cocoa farming budgeting techniques. A special focus is given to young people who are encouraged to develop the necessary agricultural and business-management skills to be able to earn a successful livelihood from cocoa farming.

E-Mobile Learning

We Are Currently Requesting For Sponsorship From World Wishers. NGOs, Government, Companies, Individuals etc.

E-mobile technology can be a good method of delivering educational information services to cocoa farmers via SMS text and voice messages, including social and marketing information to cocoa farming communities of Cameroon to improve incomes and livelihoods.

The team at SOCUFA strongly believe that Mobile Technology can be a better and easier source of reaching out to community farmers of Cameroon. Where In-school attendances through E-Mobile SMS or text messages about important cocoa farming tips approximating to crop yields, understand basic business concepts, HIV/AIDS awareness tips, important updates, build networks for sharing and continued learning and capitalize on opportunities available in cocoa-agri-farming.

USE OF FERTILIZERS, PESTICIDES AND RAD BITS
2nd Saturday every month

Fertilizer usage is a desirable step towards boosting cocoa production. This is because the nutrients that are being lost from the soil due to continuous usage of the soil are being replenished by fertilizer application. However, out of ignorance or otherwise, some farmers are not using this important farm input and this has resulted to the declining crop yield especially in areas where farmers are experiencing tree mortality and decline in yields. This study therefore investigated the usage of fertilizer for cocoa production. The team at SUCOFA strongly believes that a unit increase in the level of education of farmers increases the probability of a farmer to use fertilizer for cocoa production by more efficiently and successfully  Hence, increase in the level of education would lead to an increase in the use of fertilizer for cocoa production.
